Redirection is one of the most frequently used features on websites. Do you need to create an easy-to-remember address that links to a more difficult address on your or even an external website? Or, for example, do you want to redirect deleted posts and articles to another part of the site? Then today’s article, in which we will introduce the Redirection plugin, will come in handy not only for these uses.
The mentioned plugin is completely free (you can possibly support the author in further development) and offers the following functions:
Different types of redirects (permanent/temporary) including the ability to pass parameters from the specified address to the target page;
logging of non-existent pages (error 404), which often reveals, for example, some old broken link pointing to your page;
bulk import of redirect pages;
redirection history (you will see how many people entered the link you set the redirect to);
the ability to sort redirection rules into groups for better clarity;
detection of page address changes in WordPress – in case you change a link to one of your pages or posts, the plugin will automatically create a redirect rule and the old link will also work.
Installation is very simple.
